Disaster Recovery Architect

The Disaster Recovery (DR) Architect is responsible for investigating, documenting, and making recommendations for enterprise-wide disaster recovery strategies across all technology platforms. This role ensures business continuity by recommending resilient architecture and ensuring all critical applications have documentation on their DR posture and steps required to execute the DR.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Governance
- Establish governance frameworks for DR processes, including documentation of all DR plans and testing schedules.
- Collaborate with business units to align DR strategies with operational priorities and regulatory requirements.
Strategy & Design
- Develop disaster recovery documentation for critical on-premises, cloud, and SaaS hosted technologies.
- Define/Document Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) for critical systems.
- Recommend improvements to DR plans and identify gaps
Risk Management
- Perform risk assessments and impact analyses for critical systems.
- Recommend mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities in DR processes.
Collaboration
- Work closely with IT operations, security teams, and managed service providers.
