Job Description
Our client located in Boston, MA has an immediate opening for PACS Administrator to join their team. The PACS administrator is responsible for assessing systems (Primarily Siemens Syngo Dynamics and Radiology VNA PACS), determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, while also designing, upgrading and maintaining current and new systems.
Responsibilities
- This role interacts with clinical, IT, and vendor teams, and directly impacts patient care and operational efficiency in a prolific academic healthcare institution.
- Presents the opportunity to be involved and lead high-priority imaging modernization projects across sites
- Configuration and deployment of all server updates, security patches, tools, drivers, etc. transitioned from Service Design/Architecture.
- Day-to-day operational support of PACS and Cardiology imaging modalities
- Monitor and administer all PACS related software and technologies including upgrades and deployments.
- Provide training and support for end users on PACS functionality.
- Acts as liaison between Cardiology IT and Radiology VNA support.
- Participates in Powershare request facilitation and new user onboarding
- Monitor and communicate unread exams and participates in study reconciliation, HIS/RIS verifications.
- Monitors system links, HL7 and DICOM interfaces for errors, as assigned.
- Perform project-related monitoring, cross collaboration technical support and trouble-shooting of server systems and networking.
- Manage DICOM configuration, including AE Titles, ports, and modality worklists.
- Data extraction and reports to evaluate and monitor cardiology operations.
- Creates/Executes/deploys scripts, tools, server builds for IT Infrastructure.
- Provide Problem analysis, recovery and reporting.
- Technical consultation on projects; and vendor escalation when warranted.
- Provisioning services, such as quoting, ordering, tracking and installation of new equipment
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science or a related discipline or 5 years related experience
- 5+ years of server administration experience in a VMWare management
- Familiarity with DICOM, PACS systems and PACS VNA archives
- Experience in a technical role managing servers, desktops, and providing support for end users, or equivalent experience in a clinical imaging role in Radiology or Cardiology is preferred.
- Must have working knowledge of Networking
- Must have excellent distributed systems platform knowledge
- Familiarity with the concepts of ITIL v.3
- Epic infrastructure knowledge a plus
- 3+ Years PACs administration/modality experience
- Strong troubleshooting and implementation skills
- Proficiency in DICOM
- HL7 and integration workflows
- Knowledge of Server scripting and automation
- Knowledge of Dicom standards, HL7 messaging, network infrastructure and WEB technology.
- Understanding of healthcare business processes in relation to PACS to support and clinical imaging
- Knowledge of installation and maintenance of PACS software and hardware
- Knowledge of Epic/EMR system integrations
Preferred
- Familiarity with PowerShare
- Syngo Dynamics and GE enterprise VNA
- Networking and Virtual server infrastructure experience
- Previous Epic EMR experience
