SimVentions — one of Virginia’s top-rated workplaces — is hiring a Red Team Penetration Tester III to support offensive cybersecurity operations for U.S. Government and DoD systems. This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll emulate threat actors, uncover vulnerabilities, and work closely with Blue Teams to strengthen mission-critical environments.
What you’ll do
- Conduct offensive cybersecurity assessments across Linux, Windows, and macOS
- Use tools like Metasploit, Nmap, Kali Linux, and Cobalt Strike
- Emulate adversary TTPs using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
- Perform exploit development, including identifying zero-day or previously unknown vulnerabilities
- Develop and refine offensive security tooling
- Write scripts or software using at least two languages (Python, C++, Java, Rust, Assembly, C#, etc.)
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance overall cyber posture
What you’ll need
- Active Top Secret/SCI-eligible clearance (Tier 5 / IT Level I)
- Experience conducting Red Team or offensive cyber operations
- Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly
- One or more of the following DoD 8570 certifications: CEH, CySA+, CISA, GSNA, CFR, PenTest+
- Proficiency with offensive security tools and exploitation techniques
Nice to have
- 7+ years offensive cyber or penetration testing experience
- Experience with Active Directory
- Advanced Offensive Security certifications (OSCP, OSCE, OSEE, OSWP)
- BS degree in IT, IS, CS, or Computer Engineering
