Summary
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management and support of enterprise business application solutions. The System Administrator is thoroughly knowledgeable of the infrastructure as well as the applications.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs high level troubleshooting of all infrastructure and application issues.
- Managing the daily operations and maintenance of enterprise applications.
- Administers the application configuration and application security configuration.
- Maintains application interfaces to peripheral systems and devices.
- Responsible for the initial application implementation, updates and continued maintenance.
- Works closely with IT support, Business Systems Analysts, and internal customers as an escalation point to resolve system issues.
- Works with vendors in order to resolve application issues.
- Shepherds vendor issues to ensure that application fixes are developed.
- Documents system configurations, processes, procedures and other pertinent system information.
- Coordinates with Business Systems Analysts to provide vendor updates.
- Works in a high paced environment, in support of a high number of applications.
- Troubleshoots and evaluates application, peripheral and interface escalation issues/problems from IT Support to final resolution, documenting resolution tasks in IT ticketing system.
- Troubleshoots application escalations from IT Support for enterprise applications and provides final resolution for communication back to customer.
- Responsible for 24x7 on-call support.
- Must occasionally work after regularly scheduled hours to support implementations, upgrades, troubleshooting or maintenance on applications.
- Monitors applications proactively to anticipate problem areas to minimize impact of issues to business areas.
- Acts as a resource in understanding how technology systems carry out business functions.
- Participates in project as a technical resource with the appropriate IT personnel and customers.
- Completes work activities assigned for project tasks and coordinates efforts with IT team members.
- Responsible for assisting in the evaluation of existing and new application products.
- Monitors and maintains applications, device availability, application status, system reliability and service.
- This includes documenting/maintaining application security, controlling user access specific to application functionality and maintaining recurring job/process schedules.
- Coordinates with application vendors and business owners to ensure current software is up-to-date and error-free.
- Researches requests concerning application issues, operating system, and service pack compatibility and/or enhancements.
- Creates business value through successful task completion, balancing business objectives schedules and priorities.
- Ensures requests and problems are properly submitted, updated, and resolved in the IT ticketing system.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HIPAA security requirements, as required by employees exposed to ePHI data, by attending mandatory training provided annually by Casino Arizona.
- Responsible for development and/or review of documents supporting the entire project and system delivery life-cycle including, but not limited to, detailed design specifications, application architecture diagrams, support transition documentation, system interface diagrams, test plans and expected test results.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.
- Responsible for following the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI.
- Subject matter expert for assigned products and working knowledge of all enterprise applications.
- Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of all personnel matters pertaining to the performance of any computer work and/or special projects.
- Monitors and maintains assigned tickets to resolution
- Serves as backup to other Systems Administrators when they are out.
Education And/or Experience
HS/GED required; Associates degree (AA); three (3) years demonstrated systems/application administration experience, including upgrade and new installation experience or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and technology work experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
MCSA (Windows Server) strongly preferred.
Computer Skills
Applicants must have experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems administration, application administration implementation experience, and SQL Server environment experience. Additionally, applicants must understand VMware, WAN/LAN and wireless concepts.

- User training and procedures
- Relational database principles
- Overall understanding of the project lifecycle.
- Ability to contribute to interface and conversion planning.
- Understanding, education or experience in Web applications, client/server; network principles.
- Proven customer service/user support skills showing strong interpersonal skills, team skills and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work on multiple tasks, demonstrating flexibility when dealing and changing business needs.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality. Industry-specific knowledge of gaming, accounting, operations and marketing is a plus.
Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand for prolonged periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; secondary smoke and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
