What You Will Do
As a Privacy Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for assisting the SCDOR CISO/CPO in enforcing, evaluating, and monitoring compliance requirements related to the Data Privacy & Security program.
Primary Job Duties Include
- Preforming research to support the evaluation and maintenance of SCDOR’s Privacy program and associated policies, standard, procedures, and controls.
- Coordinating Privacy activities on behalf of the CISO/CPO.
- Supporting the development of Privacy compliance documentation to outline to employees that privacy is incorporated into the organization’s process, initiatives, and development of information systems.
- Assisting the CISO/CPO in performing reviews of Privacy incidents, projects, information systems, and/or processes to identify privacy-related vulnerabilities.
- Assisting the CISO/CPO and SCDOR management in classifying information assets across the organization based on the data classification schema.
- Supporting the SCDOR CISO/CPO and SCDOR management in establishing, implementing, and monitoring agency to data retention policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and relevant program experience
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge applying privacy and security regulations (NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, Privacy Laws, PCI DSS)
- Understanding platforms and leveraging tools such as Excel, identity access tools, and streamline compliance workflows
- Some history in leading privacy/security incidents analysis, conducting exercises, and identifying privacy risk
- Must clearly write reports and explain privacy and security concepts in clear and concise language

- Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
- Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week after one year of employment with SCDOR.
