IT Generalist Role
As the IT Generalist, you will collaborate with the firm’s IT Manager to perform a variety of tasks including end user support, systems management, network administration, and inventory management. The IT Generalist will be responsible for assisting the firm’s IT Manager in supporting the firm’s information systems and serving as the first point of contact for staff IT needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to employees
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Maintain and update systems and software
- Monitor system performance and ensure uptime
- Manage user accounts and access permissions
- Inventory Management
- Phone System Management
- Review backup and security reports
- Document technical processes and procedures
- Project Management
Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer or information science
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience supporting both cloud and on-prem networks and infrastructure, preferably in financial services or similar industry
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; willingness to assist other departments with projects and quickly grasp new technologies
- Attention to Detail: Possess a high degree of attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Organizational Excellence: Strong project management skills with a proven ability to organize, multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems
- Pruriency with Intune, Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365
- Mobile Device Management
- VPN, LAN, WAN setup and maintenance
- Windows server management
- Backup and storage management
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks
- Scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell or Python
