Job Title: BI Analyst
Location: South San Francisco, CA
We're seeking a skilled and experienced
BI Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our business intelligence and financial reporting systems, with a strong focus on IBM TM1 and Cognos. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain IBM TM1 cubes, dimensions, rules, and processes to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Develop and implement Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics to provide actionable insights to business stakeholders
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across various systems
- Collaborate with finance and business teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver robust BI and reporting solutions
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve data discrepancies or system issues
- Support end-users with training and documentation on BI tools and reports
Qualifications
Primary Skills:
- Proven experience with IBM TM1 (e.g., cube development, rule writing, TI processes, security)
- Strong proficiency in Cognos (e.g., Report Studio, Workspace Advanced, Framework Manager)
- Expertise in SQL for data manipulation, query optimization, and database management
- Solid understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting principles, methodologies, and best practices
Secondary Skills:
- Experience with Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation tasks
- Proficiency in Data Modelling techniques for relational and multidimensional databases
Good to Have:
- Familiarity with Lifesciences Sales and Forecasting Data concepts and industry practices
