- Assist the Auditor-In-Charge and/or Audit Manager in the development of Audit Planning Memo and Risk Control Matrix during the planning phase of the audit process for assigned audits
- Assist in the execution and delivery of various audits in his or her coverage areas under the direction of the Auditor-In-Charge and/or Audit Manager
- Perform and document walkthroughs of the major functions/sub-processes within the area being audited to understand the type of activities being performed, key and secondary risks and controls
- Perform control design assessment and control effectiveness testing according to the Risk Control Matrix
- Document test approach and results in a sufficient manner for a reasonably prudent individual to completely understand the work performed and conclusions reached strictly from the work papers
- Communicate with the Auditor-In-Charge, Audit Manager, and the auditee/s throughout fieldwork on any potential roadblocks, control weakness, policy violations, or other issues
- Drafts audit findings write-up to be reviewed and approved by the Auditor-In-Charge and Audit Manager prior to the conclusion of the fieldwork. Participate in training new auditors about Internal Audit methodology and practices, and banking processes
- Assist the Auditor-In-Charge in completing the post risk assessment
- Perform validation of open audit issues
- Stay current and informed of applicable regulations (e.g., Consumer and BSA/AML and OFAC related laws), rules and regulations impacting financial institutions
- Maintain and improve technical and professional knowledge through continuing education as outlined in the individual’s Training and Development Plan
- May be called upon to support other audits
Job Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related area such as business management, accounting, finance, economics; with a graduate degree a plus
- 2+ years of internal audit, risk management, or compliance experience
- At least one professional, or in process of obtaining, audit-related designation (e.g., CIA, CISA, CPA, CAMS, CRCM) a plus
- Strong understanding of a risk-based internal audit approach
- Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with auditing software (TeamMate+) or data analytics tool a plus
- Some travel will be required
The salary range for this full-time position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 + bonus + benefits
Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location.
