Title: Systems Administrator
Client: Florida Department of Transportation
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities
- Support and expand FDOT’s IT infrastructure.
- Configure, monitor, and administer servers (Windows and Linux).
- Ensure security, availability, and performance of systems and applications.
- Implement network policies, firewalls, and security hardening.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Power Platform services.
- Manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines.
- Provide technical recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system/application issues; escalate to vendors when needed.
- Assist and support developers and IT staff.
- Participate in on-call rotations, after-hours, and weekend support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.m performance
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements:
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — OR equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate the following:
* 5–8 years in information systems engineering or related field.
* 3–5 years in IT infrastructure/network environments (operations, support, administration).
* 2–3 years with Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
* 2–3 years IIS Administration.
* 2–3 years with TCP/IP, DNS, file sharing, and permissions.
* 2–3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Azure (highly desired).
* Experience with AWS or GCP (highly desired).
* Experience with middleware (API Management, IT Service Automation, batch job services) (desired).
* Strong Microsoft software administration background (desired).
* Experience in Linux (Redhat, Ubuntu) administration and patching.
Preferred Qualifications:
* In-depth knowledge and administration of Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Power Platform
* Proficiency in Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu), including patching
* Strong networking principles and cloud-based network architectures
* Experience with DevOps, git repositories, and automation tools
