Position Overview:
Machina Cognita Technologies (MCT) is seeking a skilled IT Administrator to design, secure, and maintain the company’s computing and network infrastructure in compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. This position plays a key role in supporting advanced R&D, including systems used for AI model development and autonomous systems test and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 GCC High, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and end-user systems.
- Configure and manage VPN access (experience with Azure VPN or Zscaler a plus).
- Support network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, DNS, DHCP).
- Monitor and maintain endpoint security baselines and device compliance policies aligned with CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, and related cybersecurity requirements.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, and device imaging (Autopilot).
- Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in design and implementation of cybersecurity plans aligned with NIST and CMMC standards.
- Provide technical support to end users with timely IT troubleshooting (hardware, software, connectivity, MFA, Intune enrollment).
- Participate in technology planning, vendor evaluation, and lifecycle management of IT assets.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration or support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Intune MDM, and Entra ID.
- Familiarity with VPN configuration and troubleshooting (Azure VPN Gateway preferred).
- Experience supporting small to mid-size business networks (VPN, firewalls, VLANs).
- Understanding of access controls, encryption, and endpoint protection concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a government contracting, regulated, or compliance-driven environment.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP).
