About The Role
We’re partnering with a client seeking a highly capable IT Audit Consultant for a short-term consulting engagement. This fully remote position (working PST hours) will run for approximately five weeks, focusing on IT audit and SOX compliance efforts during a critical year-end period. This consultant will play a key role in testing and documenting IT General Controls (ITGCs), reviewing financially significant integrations, and supporting audit readiness efforts. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently with limited oversight and communicate effectively with leadership.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $55 – $75 per hour

Engagement: 5-week project | Full-time hours | Remote (PST business hours)
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and document test plans in AuditBoard, ensuring clarity and completeness around IPE and control testing.
- Execute and document testing of key IT General Controls, leveraging available external audit work where possible.
- Validate application-level controls within key financial business processes.
- Assess integrations for data accuracy and completeness, including SOC 1 review and audit documentation.
- Support identification and validation of key financial reports within Workday for audit tagging.
- Potentially assist with developing a formalized ITGC testing program and preparing audit-related communications for leadership.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Candidate Qualifications
- 3–5 years of IT audit experience, particularly related to SOX and ITGC testing.
- Proven ability to work independently and drive tasks forward without constant oversight.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially around documenting control testing.
- Experience working with Workday Financials or Payroll modules is required.
- Prior use of AuditBoard is a plus.
- Comfort interfacing with leadership and external auditors.
