Job Description:
E3R is seeking a Windows System Administrator to support and maintain secure Microsoft Windows-based server and workstation environment within a Department of Defense (DoD) network. This role is responsible for implementing, configuring, and managing Windows systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including STIG compliance and RMF requirements. The administrator ensures system availability, integrity, and confidentiality while supporting operations and classified/unclassified network environments.
Functional Description:
• Work directly with IT Manager/Cybersecurity Analyst in a technical role
• Manage System in EMASS (Assets, HW/SW List, POA&M Controls)
• Participate in deployment and implementation planning of assets
• Installation and setup of Windows OS and programs on terminals
• Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network equipment (switches) relating to company owned terminals
• Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to government policies.
• Perform backup operations on terminals.
• Perform regular file archival and purge, as necessary.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, as required.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures on terminals.
• Respond to company Helpdesk tickets related to IT matters.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
• Experience with STIG implementation, RMF processes, and DoD IA tools (e.g., ACAS, HBSS, SCCM).
• Knowledge of U.S. Government computers, networks, and security
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and PowerShell.
• Maintain and create system documentation
• Willingness to learn new technologies
• Ability to surge hours worked through events
• Advantageous to have knowledge of DOW network infrastructures
Certifications:
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or equivalent).
• Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, are preferred.
• Azure Fundamentals (AZ900)
Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret or Active within the last 2 years, no exceptions
Education Requirement: Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science desired, or 4 years equivalent experience in a related field in lieu of degree. BA (Bachelor of Arts) with listed certifications would suffice.
Work Schedule:
• Ability to work within company and customer schedule requirements vary depending on criticality and necessity of a given task.
• Ability to perform onsite work in secure facilities minimum of 80% of time
Place of Performance: Corporate Headquarters, San Diego, CA
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000
