Infrastructure and Systems Administrator
Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Systems Administrator for a 6-month contract position based in El Monte, CA. This role requires working onsite at least four days per week. The position involves managing VMware and AWS environments, coordinating vendors, and maintaining reliable infrastructure operations. Immediate availability is preferred.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate vendors and managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure SLAs, tickets, releases, and change windows are properly managed.
- Administer application environments on AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS basics, IAM hygiene).
- Manage and monitor backups and restores using Veeam; conduct regular recovery tests.
- Support VMware environments by provisioning virtual machines, managing snapshots, and monitoring performance.
- Assist with minor .NET application tasks such as configurations, builds, simple fixes, and deployment pipelines.
- Maintain system runbooks, asset inventories, and uptime/incident metrics.
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in application operations, infrastructure, or service delivery.
- Proven hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Veeam backups, and AWS fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of .NET configurations, logs, build/deploy processes, and scripting (PowerShell or CLI).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices for incident and change management, as well as system monitoring and documentation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Bonus Points For
- AWS Certified Associate or Veeam VMCE certification.
- Basic SQL skills and experience with Jira or ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
