The purpose of the position is to serve court processes, arrest warrants, and other writs; provide building security; and serve as bailiff to the court. This is accomplished by reviewing processes and summons; delivering summons to prospective jurors; serving warrants; arresting violators; establishing court payment plans; and acting as security in the courtroom. Additional duties include answering questions from the public, delivering monies to banking institutions, educating the public, and preparing and maintaining reports.
- Completes the warrant process by reviewing documents; working with administration on processes; contacting defendants; arranging payment programs; completing forms; serving warrants; and filing documents;
- Processes warrants, summons, and citations by researching addresses and information; serving warrants; serving summons to prospective jurors; arresting prisoners and issuing citations; transporting prisoners; and completing booking processes;
- Locating and making contact with defendants with outstanding warrants;
- Serves as court bailiff by calling defendants to the court; screening entrants; reviewing rules with the public; assisting the judge with identity and insurance verifications;providingcourtsecurity;assistingwithcourtactivities;andproviding building security;
- Completes banking transactions by verifying monies received and transporting monies to banking institutions;
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Associate’s Degree;
- Five (5) years of related work experience;
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience; and
- TCOLE Certification; and
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of City policies and procedures;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing; and
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with City administration, other employees, and the general public.
