HashiCorp Vault Engineer (REMOTE, Part-Time, Contract)
Large financial services company | 20 hrs/week (evenings/weekends OK) | Potential ramp to 40 hrs/week
Were seeking a HashiCorp Vault Engineer with strong Terraform skills to support a major corporate divestiture. This role focuses on migrating Vault from the parent organization, designing and implementing secure policies, and building the automation needed to stand up and operate the platform independently. Youll also provide ongoing support as the new environment goes live.
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of HashiCorp Vault from the parent company to the new standalone environment.
- Build and manage Vault infrastructure using Terraform.
- Develop and maintain secure Vault policies, access controls, and secrets workflows.
- Support the product through launch, stabilization, and ongoing improvements.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and platform teams (some AWS experience helpful).
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault architecture, configuration, and policy design.
- Deep Terraform experience (modules, automation, IaC pipelines).
- Exposure to AWS environments (IAM, EC2, networking basics).
- Experience with migrations or divestitures is a plus.
- Ability to work part-time (20 hrs/week) with flexible hours; potential to scale to full-time within 23 months.
