While the role is broad by nature, you’ll also have the opportunity to take ownership of specific domains (such as SaaS Systems, AI Automation, or IAM) and become the subject matter expert for those areas.
This hands-on, user-facing role requires technical depth and strong communication skills. You’ll support employees directly, maintain reliable systems, and drive improvements that make IT operations more efficient and scalable.
Please note this role requires you to be on call as part of a shift pattern.
What You’ll Do
Infrastructure & Operations
- Administer and manage core IT systems, ensuring availability and reliability.
- Oversee network operations, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Manage cloud infrastructure (IaaS/SaaS), with focus on scalability and security.
- Handle endpoint and mobile device management (laptops, desktops, phones).
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and lifecycle tracking.
- Manage hardware procurement and vendor coordination.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline Tier 1 support tasks.
- Build and maintain integrations between IT systems and tools.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure systems meet business needs.
- Perform performance tuning for infrastructure and services.
Security & Compliance
- Manage access controls and identity management.
- Monitor security events and respond to incidents.
- Enforce IT and security policies across systems and endpoints.
- Apply system hardening and patch management practices.
- Support compliance efforts with practical security knowledge (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR).
People & Process
- Create and maintain IT documentation and knowledge base.
- Manage IT aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors and manage software licensing.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of professional experience in system administration or IT Operations, with proven senior-level responsibilities.
- Strong expertise in at least two major domains (e.g., SaaS Systems, AI Automation, Support, IAM), with broad competence across all IT areas.
- Experience leading complex troubleshooting efforts and driving root cause analysis.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Identity & Access Management (JumpCloud, Okta, or similar enterprise IAM).
- Cloud & SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom).
- Endpoint & Device Management (MDM for macOS, Windows, and mobile devices).
- ITSM platforms (Jira Service Management or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of security principles and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR) and ability to enforce them in practice.
- Familiarity with IT asset management systems (e.g., AssetPanda).
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members, document processes, and establish standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust with both end users and vendors.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience designing or leading automation and AI adoption within IT operations.
- Good scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent), with experience building and maintaining integrations.
- Previous background in Fintech or other regulated industries.
