Summary
The Cloud Architect will lead the ongoing evolution and optimization of our existing cloud environment. This role demands a deep understanding of cloud platforms, infrastructure, and services, with a focus on translating evolving business needs into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure our cloud infrastructure remains aligned with strategic goals. Must be fluent in AWS cloud infrastructure, multiple cloud technologies is a plus.
Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy and Optimization:
- Develop and maintain the organization's cloud strategy and roadmap.
- Design and architect cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements.
- Analyze existing cloud architectures and identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud services and technologies into the existing environment.
- Create detailed architecture diagrams and documentation.
Cloud Environment Management
- Lead the ongoing management and refinement of our existing cloud infrastructure and applications.
- Ensure cloud solutions are continuously optimized for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Automate cloud infrastructure management and optimization using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Oversee cloud environment updates and migrations with minimal disruption.
- Design and implement site reliability, high availability, and disaster recovery
- Oversee cloud migrations.
Cloud Optimization And Management
- Monitor cloud performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Implement cost optimization strategies.
- Manage cloud security and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues.
Collaboration And Communication
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams.
- Communicate cloud concepts and best practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship.
Security And Compliance
- Ensure cloud solutions adhere to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
- Implement security controls and monitoring.
- Participate in security audits and risk assessments.
Staying Current
- Stay up-to-date on emerging cloud technologies and trends.
- Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and tools.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or experience.
- 8+ years of technology experience
- 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture and implementation.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies.
- Experience with one or more major cloud platforms, AWS is required (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of networking, security, and virtualization.
- Experience with cloud monitoring and logging tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
