(Same job description applies to both levels — seniority determined by depth of experience.)
Overview
Client is seeking both Senior and Junior System Administrators with strong hands-on experience in VMware VCF implementation, VMware Aria, and Nutanix, as well as solid expertise in Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and Azure Administration. These roles will be part of a hybrid onsite/remote team based in Durham, NC, supporting critical infrastructure operations and modernization initiatives.
The ideal candidates will also bring experience with River Meadow migration tools and will collaborate closely with application teams to ensure stability, performance, and scalability across the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2008–2025).
- Manage and optimize VMware vSphere environments (v8.x preferred).
- Support VMware VCF implementations and contribute to architecture enhancements.
- Utilize VMware Aria for automation, orchestration, and operational visibility.
- Provide hands-on administration of Nutanix platforms for compute and storage.
- Perform Azure Administration including provisioning, monitoring, identity, and security tasks.
- Collaborate directly with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure system reliability.
- Support server migrations, cloud adoption projects, and platform modernization (River Meadow experience highly preferred).
- Implement system security best practices, patching, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve system issues.
- Travel occasionally (3–5 trips expected) to Clorox plant locations to support onsite project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Windows Server Administration (2008–2025).
- Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere (8.x preferred).
- Proficiency with VMware VCF and VMware Aria (highly important).
- Experience with Nutanix administration.
- Hands-on background in Azure Administration.
- Experience with River Meadow or comparable migration tools.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional and application teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for onsite plant support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications such as:
- MCSE / MCSA
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Azure Administrator Associate
- Experience supporting manufacturing or plant-based IT environments.

- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Durham, NC / 2 days remote.
- Fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct interaction across IT and business units.
Occasional travel to Client's plant locations nationwide.
