Position Title: Systems Administrator
Location: Arlington, VA (100% Onsite)
Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI (SCI-eligible candidates acceptable)
Position Status: Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $65/hr. - $75/hr.
Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a mission-critical program in Arlington, VA. This role is ideal for a high-performing IT professional with a strong background in Windows Server administration, Linux systems, virtualization (VMware), system optimization, patching, Citrix, PowerShell, and enterprise infrastructure support.
The Systems Administrator will play a key role in ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing systems across a classified environment. You will troubleshoot complex technical issues, drive system improvements, support 24/7 operational readiness, and contribute to ongoing modernization initiatives.

- ResponsibilitiesOptimize system operations, performance, and resource utilization in highly available environments.
- Perform system capacity analysis, planning, and performance tuning.
- Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments using VMware.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Apply system and security patches following DoD and internal security standards.
- Ensure continuous system functionality and monitoring within 24/7 operational requirements.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, server, and network-related issues.
- Support and administer Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to maintain high performance and user experience.
- Manage enterprise tools including SCCM, DNS, DHCP, SAN, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
- Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Perform daily administrative and operational tasks in alignment with compliance standards.
- Support additional mission-related tasks as needed.
- Required Skills/EducationMinimum 5 years of hands-on systems administration experience in enterprise or DoD environments.
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux administration, PowerShell scripting, VMware, and enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Experience with SCCM, OS deployment, DNS, SAN administration, GPO, DHCP, and Microsoft enterprise technologies.
- Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing Citrix environments.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (SCI-eligible acceptable).
- DoD IAT Level II certification required upon hire, such as:
- CompTIA Security+
- SSCP
- CCNA Security
- CySA+
- GICSP
- GSEC
