Job Title: SIU Investigator | Fraud Investigator

Our Client is seeking a Mid-Level SIU Investigator to join their growing team. This is a fully remote, desk-based role open to candidates anywhere within the Continental United States, with occasional travel as needed. In this position, you'll leverage your investigative expertise and P&C insurance knowledge to identify and mitigate potential fraudulent activity. If you have experience in SIU, claims, underwriting investigations, or law enforcement/military investigative roles, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct investigations into questionable first- and third-party P&C claims using established fraud detection strategies.
- Apply expertise in policy coverage, P&C products, and claims processes to guide investigative decisions.
- Ensure investigations align with state insurance fraud regulations.
- Gather and assess evidence through interviews, database research, public records, digital tools, and internal resources.
- Deliver detailed written and verbal investigative reports with clear findings and recommendations.
- Build strong partnerships with industry contacts, law enforcement, and other investigative resources.
- Support fraud awareness initiatives and serve as a knowledgeable resource when needed.
- Participate in CAT (catastrophe) response duties when assigned.
- Maintain strong compliance and risk practices throughout all activities.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One of the following: 2+ years of P&C claims adjusting or SIU/fraud investigation experience, or 4+ years of investigative experience from law enforcement, military, or related fields.
- Proven ability to conduct interviews and obtain statements from claimants, witnesses, and involved parties.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate evidence objectively.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with computers, investigative tools, and research databases.
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, legal concepts, contracts, and medical terminology.
What Sets You Apart
- Underwriting experience—especially in post-bind investigations or underwriting-driven investigative teams.
- Strong understanding of auto and property policy language to identify potential misrepresentation early.
- Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.
- Experience with low-to-complex P&C fraud investigations.
- Relevant designations such as CFE, CIFI, SCLA, ACLS, FCLS, LPCS, AIC, CPCU, CCLS, or similar.
- Prior military service or experience as a military spouse/domestic partner.
