This position is for a Datacenter Networking Enterprise Architect (F5) who will serve as the primary resource for F5 configuration, security, management, and troubleshooting within the State of Michigan environment.

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining F5 resources supporting multiple State of Michigan agencies.
This includes hands-on work with F5 LTM, GTM, ASM, APM, and BIG-IQ modules, ensuring optimal application performance, security, and reliability.
You will collaborate with developers, network engineers, and application teams to validate F5 recommendations, request and manage certificates, implement configurations, and monitor ongoing enhancements.
The role also involves maintaining Remedy ticket queues, participating in design and troubleshooting meetings, and ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, document configurations, and work well in a hybrid team environment.
Knowledge of Cloudflare is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage F5 load balancer modules (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM).
- Create and manage Virtual IPs (VIPs) and Wide IPs.
- Install, renew, and troubleshoot SSL certificates.
- Create and modify iRules and SAML policies.
- Fine-tune and troubleshoot ASM policies in learning and blocking modes.
- Perform device-level maintenance including CVE remediation, upgrades, and object cleanup.
- Utilize BIG-IQ for centralized configuration and backups.
- Collaborate with developers and IT teams across agencies.
- Maintain Remedy ticket queues and uphold SLA compliance.
- Participate in troubleshooting sessions and design review meetings.
- Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and training when needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- F5 LTM: VIP creation, troubleshooting, SSL management, iRule scripting (3–5 years)
- F5 GTM: Wide IP creation and management (3–5 years)
- F5 ASM: Policy creation, tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting (3–5 years)
- F5 APM: SAML policy creation, troubleshooting (3–5 years)
- F5 Device Management: CVE remediation, iHealth/qkview, upgrades, BIG-IQ backups, cleanup (3–5 years)
- Cloudflare: CDN, DDoS mitigation, and web security (2–5 years, desired)
- Enterprise Networking: Routing, switching, and data center environments (3–5 years)
- Customer Service & Teamwork: Collaboration across multi-functional teams (3–5 years)
