The Systems Administrator, reporting to the Manager, IT Systems Engineering, is responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of IT infrastructure and applications, including on-premises, hybrid and cloud-based solutions. The role requires an individual to support our ticketing requests, configure and maintain the applications that monitor and manage our infrastructure, as well as make changes to support the administrative, backup and system maintenance standards and processes required for maintaining the application, server and storage infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will collaborate with IT engineers and vendors to support our on-premises and cloud services.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the administrative processes that support the computer systems and infrastructure within an organization. In addition to this, they will need to communicate and work with various stakeholders to ensure that processes and workflows are documented and accessible to appropriate parties. Moreover, the Systems Administrator provides technical application support that aligns with the defined service levels, which may involve providing support outside regular business hours.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing user access, troubleshooting support tickets, and driving efficiencies within the operational process. They will also be a key administrator in our M365 platform and supporting email issues. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, a customer-service mindset, and a passion for process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the call-tracking system: Investigate and resolve trouble tickets
- Monitor and perform routine operations for systems.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of systems and software applications.
- Support MS Exchange in M365 and other M365 applications.
- Support Backup and archival processes.
- Support Identity and access management processes.
- Manage and maintain the file server.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Ticket Resolution & Troubleshooting:
- Respond to and resolve operational service requests and incidents in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot user access requests to systems and services.
- Investigate and troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and access provisioning issues across various platforms and applications.
- Collaborate with end-users, IT support, and security teams to ensure smooth access management.
Process Optimization & Automation:
- Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies within operational processes.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, including automation and self-service enhancements.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles.
Systems Administration:
- Maintain and support various server and application inventory including provisioning and de-provisioning
- Maintain and administer IAM tools, directories, and related systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot errors, and escalate technical issues as needed.
- Create and maintain documentation for operational processes and procedures.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with M365, Windows, Linux, DNS, AD, and virtualization technologies
- At least 3 years' relevant work experience is, including:
- Being accountable for providing exceptional storage support and administration
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup and monitoring technologies
- Experience with Active Directory and other IAM platforms
- Experience with cloud storage technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly triage and solve problems
- Strong Communication Skills
