A leading national organization is seeking a Cloud Administrator to support and enhance its hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role is based onsite in Cincinnati, OH and plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems across cloud and on-premise environments.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth across Microsoft cloud technologies, endpoint security, virtualization, and automation—along with outstanding communication and customer service skills.
About the Role
The Cloud Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and Microsoft 365/Azure services. This position collaborates closely with internal teams, escalates issues as needed, contributes to enterprise IT projects, and ensures security and compliance across systems and environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning, execution, and monitoring of cloud and hybrid infrastructure initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing cloud migration projects.
- Administer and maintain:
- Microsoft 365 & Azure services (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related systems)
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) including MDM/MAM, Conditional Access, Compliance Policies
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint & Defender for Office 365
- Azure SSO for third-party applications
- Endpoint security (AV/malware protection, firewalls, DLP, etc.)
- Troubleshoot server hardware/software, network connectivity, and peripheral issues.
- Escalate and coordinate corrective actions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain and refine security measures across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Keep accurate documentation of servers, storage, and network configurations.
- Create and update PowerShell and VB automation scripts.
- Support and maintain integrated third-party systems and toolsets.
- Participate in monthly patching cycles, updates, and system upgrades.
- Collaborate within a team environment to deliver efficient problem resolution.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and provide recommendations.
- Maintain detailed written and visual technical documentation.
- Travel to regional offices as needed.
- Perform additional duties and project work as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred; or Associate degree plus 5+ years of hands-on technical experience.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud/on-prem environments and cloud migration efforts.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 & Azure cloud administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, SSO, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and Microsoft Defender security tools.
- Strong understanding of endpoint security technologies (AV/malware, firewall, DLP).
- Strong PowerShell knowledge (v3.0 or later) for AD/Exchange support; VB scripting experience.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory/Azure AD (Entra ID), including sites, OUs, GPOs, and policies.
- Experience participating in internal/external compliance audits.
- Ability to create and maintain IT SOPs, standards, and documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft virtualization (Hyper-V) in a blade center environment.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and established best practices.
- Experience identifying and mitigating security risks through audits and data review.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments and Exchange.
- Strong understanding of PKI and certificate management.
- General networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, static IPs, subnetting, APIPA).
- Capacity to manage tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Ability to work extended hours/nights/weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift and install equipment up to 50 lbs and perform required physical tasks (bending, stooping, etc.).
