Based in New York or Washington, D.C., the Desktop Systems Admin will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining desktop computing environments for end users. This role ensures that all desktop systems are secure, efficient, and provide seamless user experience. The Desktop Systems Admin troubleshoots complex technical issues, manages software deployments, and collaborates with other IT professionals to support business operations. The Desktop Systems Admin collaborates with Build team, IT teams, Information Security, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable authentication and authorization services across the enterprise.
This role reports to the Chief Information Officer.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, configure, and deploy desktop systems (Windows and macOS) to meet organizational requirements.
- Install, update, and maintain desktop operating systems and application software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for end users both remotely and onsite.
- Manage user profiles, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.
- Implement and monitor endpoint security measures, including antivirus, encryption, and patch management.
- Document technical procedures, system configurations, and solutions for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Collaborate with IT support, network, and security teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in IT projects such as hardware refreshes, software rollouts, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to detect and remediate vulnerabilities and threats.
- Document architecture, processes, and changes.
- Provide technical guidance and training to IT staff.
Qualifications:
- Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF) and remote support software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, and group policies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are desirable.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in desktop support or engineering roles.
- Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS desktop environments.
- Strong knowledge of Group Policy.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Experience with identity management.
- Familiarity with cloud identity solutions (Azure AD, GWS, AWS Directory Service) and hybrid environments.
- Understanding of security best practices for AD, including privileged access management and auditing.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $140-170k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
