Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Our client is a high-growth retail and consumer goods brand with a national presence across e-commerce, wholesale, and brick-and-mortar locations. As the company scales rapidly, technology has become central to optimizing operations, elevating customer experience, and enabling future innovation. They are seeking a forward-thinking Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to define and lead the company's long-term technology vision.
Role Overview
The CTO will serve as the executive owner of all technology functions-engineering, enterprise systems, data, cybersecurity, digital commerce platforms, retail tech, and infrastructure. This leader will partner closely with the CEO, COO, and C-suite to build a scalable, secure, and innovative tech ecosystem that supports growth across supply chain, retail operations, product development, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own the company's long-term technology strategy and roadmap to support growth across retail, e-commerce, and supply chain.
- Oversee all technology domains: engineering, enterprise architecture, cloud infrastructure, data, analytics, cybersecurity, and IT operations.
- Lead modernization initiatives including ERP transformation, omnichannel enablement, automation, and system integrations across the tech stack.
- Partner with merchandising, supply chain, operations, and marketing to embed technology into business workflows and improve end-to-end visibility.
- Drive e-commerce and digital innovation, including platform performance, personalization, customer experience, and retail POS ecosystems.
- Own and mature the company's cybersecurity posture, risk management framework, governance standards, and incident response.
- Build and lead high-performing technology teams with strong engineering, data, and IT capabilities.
- Oversee vendor strategy, technology investments, and multi-year budgeting aligned with business objectives.
- Champion data governance, analytics strategy, and enterprise-wide decision intelligence.
- Introduce emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, advanced analytics) where they drive measurable business impact.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team and Board on technology trends, opportunities, and risks.
Ideal Experience
- 12-15+ years of technology leadership experience, including leading at a VP or CTO level.
- Background in retail, CPG, manufacturing, direct-to-consumer brands, or other omni-channel environments.
- Expertise across enterprise systems (ERP/WMS/POS), digital commerce platforms, supply chain technology, and cloud architecture.
- Demonstrated success modernizing legacy systems and scaling tech foundations during high-growth phases.
- Strong track record of leading cross-functional transformation and influencing at the C-suite and Board level.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and enterprise risk management.
- Experience building and mentoring engineering, IT, and data teams.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on problem solving.
