Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Systems Administrator 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in East Peoria, IL, with regular travel to the Mossville, IL office as needed. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Systems Administrator to serve as the first line of support for hardware, software, networking, and shop-floor computing systems. This role provides hands-on troubleshooting, network support, system maintenance, and user assistance across multiple facilities. The administrator will perform updates, manage backups, support cybersecurity initiatives, and ensure users remain productive and connected. This position is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced onsite environments, enjoys solving technical problems, and values strong collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide Level 1 LAN/WLAN network support, machine control support, and digital display support
• Install, deploy, maintain, and administer desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and related systems
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues; replace defective components as needed
• Perform data backups, Windows security patching, antivirus updates, and disaster recovery operations
• Administer firewall access and support server-related activities
• Identify security risks and partner with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities
• Track and manage incidents using internal ticketing systems
• Maintain SLAs through timely issue resolution and accurate documentation
• Create/update knowledge base articles and user-support materials
• Communicate technical information clearly to end users
• Coordinate with vendors and service technicians as required
Required Qualifications
• 2–4 years of IT support or systems administration experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• 3–5 years of network experience, including basic troubleshooting, pinging devices, and cable checks
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate with teams
• Ability to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
• Basic hardware/software knowledge and strong troubleshooting capability
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting shop-floor or manufacturing environments
• Experience writing user documentation or support procedures
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and risk mitigation
• Ability to quickly learn internal systems and tools
