Role OverviewWe’re searching for a Founding CTO who wants to shape the future of offshore tech talent.
This role is for someone who:
- Has deep engineering experience
- Understands marketplace architecture
- Believes India → US talent matching is a massive $100B+ opportunity
- Wants meaningful equity instead of another FAANG job
- Can architect a product that scales to thousands of freelancers and hundreds of clients
You will be the US-side anchor for tech strategy and product roadmap.
What You Will Own1. Product Architecture & Technology Direction- Set the long-term engineering vision
- Lead platform architecture (marketplace + onboarding + AI integrations)
- Build the V1 → MVP → scalable version
2. Marketplace Engineering- Profile scoring
- Talent-tiering system
- Matching algorithms
- Verification & workflow automation
3. AI Integrations- Skill assessments
- Automated screening
- Intelligent ranking
- Communication analysis
4. Engineering Leadership- Mentor remote engineering talent
- Partner closely with Subbu (India Engineering Lead)
- Build tech culture + standards from Day 1
Who You Are- Based in Palo Alto / Bay Area or open to regular presence there
- 5–10+ years engineering experience
- Strong in backend, architecture, or marketplace systems
- Experience in early-stage startups or building v0 → v1 products
- Interested in equity-first roles
- Comfortable collaborating with an India-based team
- Believes in global hiring, AI-driven vetting, and scalable platforms
Bonus if you have experience in:
- Marketplaces (Gig/Recruitment/Upwork/Toptal-like)
- AI/ML integrations
- Assessment or HR-tech tools
